Sooo, after a few weeks of taking things slowly/exam interruptions/deciding saddle didn't fit, I have finally started school work with my new boy. He is just 6 years old and has had 2 years of hacking but no schooling apart from the very basic work to be broken and apparently 3 attempts in a school with previous owners where he napped with the rider. So on my second time in the schools I got someone to take a couple of piccies and here they are!

I know pictures aren't a very good representation but he worked this way pretty consistently through the whole session and even more so on the following latest session. I am so pleased with him!

Yes I am, thank you

I think my biggest problem with him is going to be engaging him a little more- his paces are not naturally active so I am first going to concentrate on improving this. In the next session I did lots and lots of transitions and got him much lighter in front- you can see he is slightly heavy on the forehand here and I think that it goes against him that he is a bit over at the shoulder conformation-wise- but I am pleased all the same that it is a good start and he is so willing to try and do exactly what I ask. I love him, can you tell
