Thought I'd share my new dog with you all...

She's called Jess, 14 month old, very small JRT. She was being rehomed because the owners Akita kept trying to eat her! And I'm guessing the Pitbull in the kitchen probably did too! They were very irresponsible owners and bragged about how she could be bred from 'to make some money' and she was a good ratting dog. They were tormeting her, getting her to bite and growl at them (they called it 'playing'!!) I couldn't get her out of the door quick enough! I gave £50 for her and she is absolutley brilliant! :D Apart from her disliking to anything that moves (i.e. motorbikes, chickens, rabbits, dogs....), she growls and snaps a lot but I'm guessing that was down to her bad upbringing :( She seems very content now, after spending the night with me :D

On the other hand, the owner has text me today saying he has another for sale. A 'tiny' 10 month old male. I expect these sort of people will just keep on breeding these poor dogs as long as there are people to sell them to! Such a shame.

She is a sweetie and I can understand how hard it would have been walking away and leaving her there. Unfortunately and I mean this in the nicest possible way there are a lot of people like you who are profited from by this type of breeder.

You will have your work cut out getting her back up to speed so I would recommend a good training class, ask around go visit, talk to the trainer and explain your dogs problems and pick the one that you think will suit you and your dog.

Good luck with her and expect regular updates.:)

Well done - she will come good with gentleness, firmness, patience and time. :)

She's lovely and at least you've got her out of that horrible home. Fingers crossed with time and patience she'll come good and at least tolerate other moving objects :)
