Everyone on this board was so helpful when I was researching Fleetwater Opposition, many of you with plenty of first hand experience with his offspring! The US boards tried, but the experience with Tyke babies over here is very limited.

I lost my FO baby last year, but this year my mare delivered a healthy filly! I had put the plug in her ear that I was looking for a grey filly with long ears and voila! My wonderful Lily gave me exactly what I wanted.

This is Bright Opposition, or Luna, at one week

She is gorgeous, a real chip off the old block. I have a FO daughter x TB, Harvest Opposition (Floss) and a grandson (by Future Illusion) out of a Sec D X Newfie mare, Opptikal Illusion (Wallabee).

Your filly has a very similar head to Flossie, and has 'the ears'

Thistle - yeah, this filly is exactly the same color as my Riverman (HOL) colt that was born out of the same mare in 2006, but looks NOTHING like him, especially in the head. Very very different. Helps in the ear department that my mare had huge ears too!

I was very worried that I was going to have something very fugly come out of this cross, I had heard conformation wasn't always FO strength to pass to his get but they were all athletic. So far it looks like Luna will be fairly structurally sound. We'll see as she ages. She is certainly a diva and knows she's "it"

She is lovely, we have one due to a FO son soon, considering using the man himself next season if we can settle on what mare to use. We also have a Riverman due from a ** mare, foal was supposed to make an appearance this week but the mare is showing no signs of dropping yet

Mare is a CCI* horse, she is 3/4 TB and 1/4 ID, though you would think a higher percentage Irish! Her sire was a thoroughbred by Caro (IRE) and dam was by Babamist. On her dam's Irish side, she goes back to Water Serpent, sire of The Rock and Ideal water who sired Stream Lion. Lily (dam) genetically is a power house, but phenotypically didn't express it! Her offspring have, however and have inherited her wonderful personality.

She's lovely- a very typical Tyke baby (he certainly stamps them!)

Best of luck with her- she looks to be a good prospect for the future :)

Thanks Mule! You've seen so many I know I can trust you on a Tyke opinion ;)

I was very happy how she has come out and am considering repeating the cross. In Florida we have the luxury of fall and spring breedings so I though I would let her develop more and get a better idea around three months and potentially breed in the fall again.

I have two straws left so potentially two foals. I guess they have been getting pregnancies with one straw pretty easily and my mare had yet to fail to catch on any pregnancy.

We had the use of an Int. 4* mare, and FO was the chosen horse. Last year, AND this year, despite the very best of Repro Veterinary care, she continued to pool fluid. ET was the plan, and whilst we achieved embryos, they suffocated in the filth.

Well done TSH, and I envy you!! You have a delightful foal there, and as TheMule says, my word but he stamps his stock!!

Alec.

Beautiful beautiful baby. You lucky lady. She looks like a little champ allready. I had a Utopian Opposition foal many years ago and he grew up to be a strapping big lad. Lost him to injury unfortunately. All the best with your lovely bundle.

Just an update!

This is my Luna at one year. She is the easiest filly...

I swear nothing phases her..

Third day learning how to lunge (we only do this for fun, about 5 minutes or so, and have since stopped since we learned it): https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10101029755882864&set=vb.11312544&type=3&theater

And then some XC (;) https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=wwkvukKEb6A we walked down a busy road and in to this residential area.. this was her first time attempting this "ditch"... I thought for sure she'd give it the stink eye like any self-respecting filly would do. Nope, she is amazing!

And this is my 5 year old son on her on mothers day: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?....712625745244.2318869.11312544&type=3&theater

I was told that FO babies could be difficult, but I think consistent handling and her mothers influence has really helped.

She is cracking!
The babies are easy, a doddle to break in and do, though sometimes they have an opionion on things! It's starting the proper ridden stuff where you want to get it absolutely spot on, never engage in an argument, keep her on your side and you'll be fine :)

Another update!
Luna at two

She is still remarkable. Insanely grown up for her age, takes to everything like she's done it her whole life (except getting her mane pulled :o )

Conformationally? there are some areas that leaves much to be desired (long pasturns, lower neck set) but she moves like her sire for the most part and her brain... so far she is a total and utter pet.
