Went to pick up Rolie today, so far everything has gone very smoothly. Loaded straight onto the trailer, travelled well, had a bit of time in the stable and now he's out in the field enjoying himself.

Here's some photo's - he's 17hh, 6yrs, ISH.

He has a BSJA sticker and number on his passport does that mean at some point he's been registered, where can I found out about that? (Sorry, I'm a dressage person!!).

I will need to think up a name for him because he hasn't got a registered name on his passport.

What a handsome boy! I would say the sticker certainly means he has been BSJA registered; go on their site and there is a section where you can 'find' horses, should be by membership number or by name. This will show you if he has winnings; to find exactly what he has done you will need to pay £10!

What do you intend to do with him?

Ooooohh I've just been on and found that he has been registered and has some winnings, not paid the £10 yet though to find out what. His registered name is Kellistown King.

Re-his breeding can anyone tell me anything about these horses:
Cavalier(FEI) (HOLS) what does HOLS mean?
Her Majesty (BSJA) (ISH)
and
Diamond Clover (RID)
Knocknalosett Thatcher (ISH)

Thank you!

I'm hoping he'll be a good allrounder, I'm really into dressage, (and he moves fab) but he's been a hunter for a while now. So we'll try a bit of jumping and if I have the nerve some XC along with the dressage, plus lots of fun hacking!!

Looking at him he has a lot of filling out to do being ISH I reckon maybe another 12 months and I bet he will look totally different. He is smart.

HOLS would mean Holstein I would say, so there's some German blood in there somewhere! Go pay the £10, be so exciting to see what he's already done! LOL!

OK paid the £10, but not being a jumping bod I don't really know what I'm looking at, so some help is required please!

Is there anyway BSJA would give me details of the rider, she's from round where I live I think because the 3 venues he's competed at are all close to me, I'd love to get in contact with her.

This is how I would interpret it but I could be wrong.

Hi,

It means he was 2nd in a british novice class on 6/12/06 whereby he won a total of £14 and he was 3rd also in a british novice class on 24/1/07 where he won £12.
He hasnt got any winnings this year
By the way british novice is 90cm in the first round.
The riders details should be on the print-out if she owned him, if not the BSJA may be able to give them to you.
Hope that helps.
By the way he is lovely - good luck with him

Ok so your boy has won an actual total of £26, having competed at British Novice level (95cms - 1m). From what I can see, only one of these was a double clear. Hasn't done very much, so very low mileage and not won too much money - plenty of time for you to get in there and take him up through the ranks, should you want to!

I'm not sure whether you can get in touch with the rider via BSJA, but give it a shot - always worth a try!

The letters in parentheses are the studbooks those various horses in his pedigree are registered in. ISH = Irish Sport Horse, HOLS = Holsteiner, RID = Irish Draught. The "FEI" means that horse competed internationally (at FEI level) and the BSJA is, well, BSJA.

He looks a lovely fellow. Hope you have lots of fun with him.

He is lovely - shame you paid the £10 as you didn't have to - you are the owner and the BSJA would have told you over the phone

They will tell anyone anything about any horse over the phone.

He has also jumped a double clear at Discovery which is 1m in the first round jump off about 1.10 that is the nov 07 date with a D after it

Cor he's handsome!! What fantastic engine he has behind!! IMO he may well fill out and grow a bit in the next, if he's only 6 and ISH. Looking forward to more pics of your progress together!
