Swan anti bac red horse or horse leads clay or the blue spray from vet alamycin look for sheep foot rot product. Can you tell my pony too is a sufferer!

I'm of an age where we used to pour hydrogen peroxide onto the soles....quite dramatic and worked well.

It definitely does. Do you know a hairdresser? Mine lets me have 10% hydrogen peroxide and a bad case of thrush only took a couple of treatments.

Thin bleach also works, it's what my vet told me to use 40 years back. My first line of attack now is peroxide because its nicer to use than bleach for the human. Anything which delivers oxygen usually works, basically.

It's cheap on ebay, sold at 12% last time I bought. Add 3 times its own volume in water for ordinary use.

My cushings horse had thrush, which cleared up with tea-tree spray and then didn't recur after we started her on Prascend.

Tea-tree oil spray works a treat, gets intoall the cracks and crevices, I swear by it.

Interesting ive got one who suffers from a bit of thrush too. Ive got some tea tree oil, how would i mix it or do you use ready made spray?

The red horse artimud is fab ONCE you are on top of it..

Personally would clean up well and a solution of hibiscrub etc and then make a paste of copper sulphate and sudocrem. Use that for 3 days and you will see a huge difference and then can use the artimud to prevent.

I buy a ready made spray, you certainly mustn't use neat tea-tree oil.

Oh yes we did too! I forgot about that. Followed by Stockholm tar as a preventative

Wow this is taking me back! My ex racer had terrible thrush (huge cracks up the bulbs of her heals), loved seeing the peroxide bubble out after squirting it in with a syringe. I found copper sulphate mixed with vasaline shoved into it and bunged up with cotton wool was great, left it for a week, scrubbed with povodine and repeat.

Copper sulphate mixed with petroleum jelly, apply daily,works a treat

Copper sulfate works but you don't want to use it for too long because if overused it can damage healthy tissues as well
