Well, since everyone else has been getting in on the act (and it was a bit chilly hanging about in Tricky’s shrubbery last night) I bit the bullet today and picked up my wee girl :D

According to her breeders, she’s a Sable Springer Spangle and she’s been excellently bred – her brother is actually her dad so they’ve kept it nicely in the family :D I’m hoping to work her, but maybe showing would be a better way to go, given her conformation and markings? Breeders told me she matches the breed standard exactly...so exactly that I might take a litter off her before spaying. They had a lovely Mal x Akita who had lovely eyes....if rather focused in different directions, how cute!!

So here she is: 6 months old and called Hendricks (erm...after the gin) – what do you think?! Think I got a bargain tbh, only £2500, dead rare these are!

:D

Ooooh yes, she's an excellent example of the breed. I have a stud dog you can use, he has been castrated but I'm sure that this will pose no problems!

:D

So when did she move in, then?

Well as she's six months now, I reckon any time really will be good for pups - if only I'd been quicker off the mark, she'd have had them in time for Christmas prezzies. WoopsiiD - I do like your stud immensely but there's a soppy Dobe up the road that might be good for her, he's got a dodgy back end but looks sweet when he's sitting on it.

I was thinking about giving tracking a go CC, what do you reckon? Bet she's be dead good at protection work too. Or maybe agility. Or I could take her shooting.... her paws might not be too good at pulling the trigger but we can beat or pick-up or something. I'd get more for her puppies too!!

And tricksy....you hang around any bush you like, just maybe tell your OH about your lifestyle choice first

(Seriously, got her a few weeks back - she's a bog standard mog, but couldn't resist her, was incredibly wary but now is a soppy git :p)

No, you've all got it badly wrong: here is my fine example of a matching pair of sable/black spangles.

Both were amazing on leads, but the one on the left was a bit funny when I let him off and has absolutely zero recall.:(

Ooh I have a spangle like that, in fact I have 2, they are litter sisters, so can't mate them but am looking into cloning. The toroiseshell one (an even rarer colour for spangles) does an excellent retrieve and some mean manwork.

how on earth do you tell them apart!!!

The one on the right had good recall, so whichever one came back was him!

Oh sorry, not in the spirit of it, but wow, the sweetness of that pic!

:( I think I've been had, these Sable Spangles seem to be all over the place!! :(

I'm just going to have to bump up the price of her pups to compensate...I've got brilliant homes waiting...on Dumbtree, Preloved, Freeads. Bet there's loads of folk that want one. I'll just breed lots - kiddies will love them, won't they?

Neighbour has a Komodo dragon if all else fails, I'm sure Sable Scaly Spangles will fly off the shelves :D

LC!!!

We actually nicknamed him Hitler during his stay...

Anyways, I am a reputable BYB. I have a backyard and two stud animals. They are guaranteed to be tailless and yoda-eared and may even have 5 legs or any other body parts.

echodomino - duh! I'm not sure you understand pedigrees - if mine is a pedigree and yours is a pedigree then we get a pedigree designer cross! Silly :p

I will need to make sure the new pups go to good homes, I've made a checklist:

1. Do you have a cheque book? No - proceed to Q2, Yes - proceed to Q3

2. Do you have the cash? No - proceed to Q4, Yes, - proceed to Q3.

3. Do you have the time, love and knowledge to look after my little darling? No - no matter, proceed to Q5; Yes - liar, proceed to Q5

4. Do you have a dodgy loan shark available? Yes, proceed to Q5, NO - find one!

5. When can you pick it up?

:D Have I missed anything?

You've missed out

6. How quickly do you plan to breed from it to produce more designer crosses?
7. What totally different designer breed are you going to use as other parent, so you can advertise ensuing offspring as "very rare"?
