Hi im new to all this horse stuff... well technically im not my girlfreind has horses and i decided to take it up as a hobby and get one of my own instead off just doing her mucking out ect haha.
So i just brought/rescued a welsh type 2 year old filly with hopes to show her in the future when she's up to weight and been handled a bit more ect. Here are some pictures the day she came.. what do you think??...Will she be good enough to show? CC welcome. Thanks for reading.

I was hoping next year. She isn't really handled so wouldnt be ready anyway. Yes she does but is already showing an improvment.

Needs some tlc, be good to see some pics in a while to re-assess.
Some muscle and grooming and some nice standing shots would help regards assessing showing potential. You will have to give is an update soon :D

She looks like she will be a very nice little pony once she has a bit more condition on her as pastie 2 says above she will probaly be ready next year rather than this enjoy your new pony she is very pretty and has a bit more growing and filling out to do if she is only 2!

Do you know her breeding, I am sure with good management and a summer behind her, she will look completely different next year, bless her. Well done you for saving her.

I will keep you updated i like knowing what other people think. Shes really hanging on to her coat we just wormed her and had the farrier trim her feet she had a medicated bath too just in case any lice in her coat. Will try and get some better pictures tommorow. :-)

Well done for taking her on and giving her a lovely home.
Defo needs alot more of your tlc before trying to do the showing thing.
I still find that most judges like looking at the little porkers
Make sure you let her build up condition slowly.
If you want to get her out this summer so she can see some sights, how about taking her inhand into a 'fun' class. I think prettiest mare would suit her :)

She is stabled over night and out in the day from 8-6. She's having as much hay as she can eat and small scoop of build up mix and alfa A.

That might be worth thinking about she is a pretty pony. We will see how we go as she still needs loads more handling. Thank you for the prettiest mare comment :-)

You are doing everything right, bringing in and turning her out will also get her handled and used to a routine.

It does take a while to catch her and she can be agressive over her feed bucket which we are working on. We put this down to her being turned out with lot's of other ponies with not much food im sure with time she'll learn she doesnt have fight for her food.

I would just try showing her next year or this year if coat etc is sorted out more quickly that you expect and see what the judges say. Cute face IMHO.

I would also be cautious of going of online views as photos can be deceptive and posters can sometimes be nasty as well! Fortunatly this site tends to be troll free but I used to subscribe to a UK showing forum and my lovely lad was savaged on a thread where I stupidly asked for advice by its posters and deemed unshowable, I was told I should try showjumping him - amusing really as he had by then actually won a lot unaffiliated and has qualified for VHS regional champs a number of times, he doesnt do coloured poles and how the heck can you tell something can jump from a photo of it standing in hand...
