My next equine project horse

Oh my Ted. Surely a big strong lad like you can deal with a couple of trollops?

And how the heck can you be 15 already?

Here’s to many more years of your antics - but remember you’re all grown up now and not allowed to play pranks on Mum.

I can’t believe that Ted is 15 and we saw him as a baby
Where do the years go. He and his little sister will be 15 in June and May 2026. It really seems like yesterday that they were foals but now they are nearing later life instead of starting out in life.

I'm so proud of him, he is the biggest, kindest, softest gentle giant. His sister was the softest little girl but is now capable of being the devil incarnate at times.

I'm finding him big to ride in my old age but he stands by the block to let me get off as well on on. I don't think there are many left on the forum that remember him now. I promised him a home for life when he landed and that remains no matter what.

I first joined the forum when Ted arrived and I followed his progress regularly.. I am glad that he turned so well

I’m another who remembers Ted’s arrival at your household, and can’t believe it’s been 15 years. Good news on the personal front, too, then: cheers to that and here’s to many more years!

PS Oddly enough I was thinking of posting and asking for an update recently. You write so well - and very funny, too.

So apparently I've been on the forum longer than I realised, I remember his arrival. He sure has landed on his hooves with you AA.
I might go back to the beginning and slowly work my way back through this thread as it's a cracker.
I also have an in season mare, with an equally unimpressed gelding companion, who knows what's going on!

You are all very kind and have a good memory to remember him. He has just gone to bed and is mightily relieved to get rid of Awful Alice who today, has thrown her over reach boot at him and tried to undress him. He would be embarrassed if I told you where she shoved his fillet string, poor chap. Life was so much less complicated when he lived with Dim Tim. Living with a girl is just tiresome.

What is it with these in season mares in December. it is cold, the days are very short of light so why are they cycling ?

I'm another who has been invested in this story from the beginning. I used to read about Ted's antics while working late nights but I hadn't put it together that was 15+ years ago.

I have a ginger mare who is IN SEASON!!! and doesn't mind who knows about it. I keep telling her she's too old and it's too cold, but she's a ginger mare so you can guess how much she listens.

15! That’s not possible. I’ve followed Ted right from the beginning. His antics have always made me laugh and it’s lovely to see an update and new pic. He’s very much a forum favourite of mine.

Efforts to hide my project horse from the OH have failed, so everyone can see him now. Will have to cook a good meal tonight for him, he will come round when he is full !!

I think he could make a police horse in due course. Constructive criticism please. His feet will be done asap, but he is unhandled todate apart from sedation to geld yesterday. 10 months old by coloured vanner out of pure Shire mare. It's a sad example of the times we are in with horses. He cost less to buy than the tonne of hay will cost to feed him over the next few weeks.
