My non horsey OH wants to go to a 3 day event!

Cant believe it, OH totally enjoyed watchin the Badder's XC (who wouldn't) on line, promises to take me next year, can you recommend any more high profile 3 day events still to come this year, that'll have all the "big names", although we do live just north of the Border, so I'm guessing not hours and hours away!

Murphybarr thats sounds just like my OH!
We watched some on the goggle box and then he asked if I would like to go and watch some.
We went to Badminton and when he got there he was more excited than me!!
He stood next to the jumps-some as big as him-and couldn't believe that horses were going to jump them.
He was transfixed. He even had a go at me this year as I didn't mention that Badminton was on so we never went.
He has signed up to be told about tickets!

Now I'm getting really excited!! wish I'd went this year, Bramham sounds a possibilty, then I've got to sort out kids, horses, dog n cat!! apart from that will it be a breeze

Well you have Burghley and Blenheim (4* and 3* respectively in September)

But you may like a day out at Blair 2* which would be quite local to you and a good day out

Last year we all went me- OH and kids....OH enjoyed it so much, he actually took it for granted we'd be going again!

I did actually book for me and daughter to go on our own on the friday for just dressage, as I didnt think OH would be up for it, then for all 4 of us to go on the Sat for XC....he was most put out, so I had to order some extra tickets!

my hubby wouldn't miss burghley for the world. Its him who sorts tickets etc!

I would wait and go to Burghley in Sept thats a big 4* i like it better than Badminton.

Blair is a 3* so almost as big as Badminton! Although it doesn't seem to attract the big names as people prefer going to Blenheim but as there is a 1,2 and 3 star there is lots of XC to watch.

When I was little our family holiday was to Blair. There is a lovely campsite right beside the castle and its a really friendly event.

My unhorsey OH has been to Badminton, Burghley, Gatcombe and Blenheim. Now he wants to go to Barbury Castle!

My non-horsey OH took me to Badminton in 06 for a significant birthday - he enjoyed it so much that at his suggestion we went back last year! We're thinking of going to Burghley or Blair next time.
