Entered both boys for BD today as NH is only 10 mins from me & I had times that meant I could take Spider for his 2 Prelims & then take him home & get Q to do N38 & E44.
It is only Spiders 3rd BD show. He's got 1 area festival sheet, but the other 3 were 61.5%

so todays aim was to get his 2nd sheet.
First test was P14. He warmed up very well, but got a bit tense once he went into the test. It was mainly in the trot work, as he relaxed into his canter (which is his best pace

) I was still pleased with him & he got 60%, so no disgrace

Onto P19. He def goes better in a long area

but then he is 17hh

Much better test. Still a bit of tension in the trot, but overall a good test & again good in the canter. Very pleased to get 65%, job done. He has his 2nd area festival sheet & finished 7th in a largish class.

Onto Q. He warmed up v v well. This however doesn't always translate into the test. However today he was v good & produced a lovely first test. Was slightly off my leg by the end, but overall I was pleased with him. He got 65% & finished 5th

.
However although he warmed up well for the E44, a horse just turned out into the field next arena & hooning around, proved very distracting

He kept it together for the first half, although not really off my leg enough & connected, but we had a bit of a discussion/ arguement

about half way through, which meant the rest of the test wasn't great

So 3/4 of the day was very good

I'm feeling shattered & I'm now crashed out with a glass of vino

I promised Spider if he was good I'd take him jumping tomorrow. So as long as I can get myself out of bed in the morning, I'm going to take him to do the clear round & 1 class at his first BSJA show
