Il know how much you like to hear about people who BE, Well on Sunday I did a 2' ODE, oh yes! I think it will be my last competition on Gigha, a horse I have had on loan for the summer. I had decided to do the Mini instead of the Novice as at the last XC it took me 7 attempts to get over the first fence and I managed to jump only 4 fences at the first attempt. As the weather has been so bad I have hardly had been anyway or done any training and for the first time her owner was there with her daughter, eek.
I was working on Saturday and then went to a wedding dance so I had to walk the course in the morning. There was lots of scary things like flower boxes, blue barrels and a water jump which resembled a muddy puddle I was terrified.
Anyway got on to warm up, she was going ok, not brilliantly, as it was getting closer to my time the collecting ring was getting busier with junior novices my time had past and still more ponies were coming. I asked dad to check to board to see what was happening (there was no steward) only to be told my dressage time had been pushed back by 1/2 an hour, brilliant. It would have been nice if the organiser had told me! Then I asked my dad to read through the test 5 minutes before I was due to go in and as he was doing so this lady said everyones worst nightmare "Thats not the test I learnt" Mad panic to find out who was wrong and it was me. So test learnt in 5 minutes and a horse who had been warmed up too long resulted in a mark of 61.5% and I even got an 8. This is from a horse that when arrived couldn't canter and had no muscle to go in a proper outline so I was very pleased with her.
On to the showjumping which was so tiny she didn't even bother and had 2 down. How I don't know as they were practically on the floor!
Then on to the xc and she was a different horse to the one I had at the previous xc. She really enjoyed herself and flew everything, apart from the muddy puddle were we got eleminated but I made sure she went in, however she then panicked and tried to get out backwards. But all in all a very nice round and I wished I had done the bigger class.
They completely messed up the scoring. There was only 3 in my class and we all got eliminated at the water. But I was the only person to jump the out bit. Anyway I came home with a nice blue rosette
I will really miss her as it is only now that I am really starting to enjoy riding her but I am going back to Uni in a few weeks and I can't afford to keep her
Here are some photos my dad took!
Me realising I had learnt the wrong test!
Warming up
If this had been in focus I think it would have been lovely
The tiny Showjumping
The one picture of me XC. I am the yellow blob.
In the Lorry ready to go home.
Well done if you managed to get this far
