Two new rugs turned up from Equestrian Clearance yesterday (thanks guys, excellent service as ever).

Hubby, who obviously thinks he should be on stage, when asked what he thought to them (fool that I am!), said "Lovely - after all, twenty-five rugs per horse isn't anywhere near enough, so these are obviously desperately needed."

Ho bleedin' ho

...not sure how to tell him I ordered another one for the Dizzy one last night... Well she does NEED it! Honest!

I nearly ordered two, finger was hovering over the button, then I remembered I already have a heavyweight turnout for her

Unused as yet

I wonder if Rug Addiction is a medically recognised condition...

I know exactly what you mean! My OH was saying "No more rugs, you don't need that many for one horse" so I got another horse! Just teasing

I have convinced him though that new horse needs new rugs as ones it came with were slightly damaged and full of gunk. I said it would be cheaper to buy new and he believed me!

Indeed it is: "Rugus Overdosus" - the only know treatment(no actual cure sadly!) it to buy another horse to use up the superfluous rugs!

Hummmm used to be addicted to buying shoes for myself, now its rugs for the neddies, think ours are kitted out for life apart form the rug shredding giraffe of a warmblood, just waiting for OH to announce that V has dismantled his Bucas that we bought 2 days ago!!

We are currently thinking about buying the girls a horse to share, that is if the pony ever sells, but I find myself looking at horses thinking will the tack and rugs that we have got fit, rather than if horse is what the girls need!

- buy more immediately as they should always be kept in large round number herds. I believe an ideal 'herd' size per horse is 30 - see a round number

.....oh and of course preferably colour co - ordinated......

I have two horses and two rugs. A fly rug and a rain sheet that fit FB. Ari has no rugs.

I'm not really trying, am I?

I think I have gone around this the wrong way. Had one horse with nearly all the rugs he could need..... please note I say nearly, then aquired horsey no 2 fortunatly the same rug size as horsey no 1 so they had to "share". Loose horsey no 1 ( I do know where he is!) so remaining horse inherits all the rugs...... and I still haven't bought any new ones.

However, I am trying to scrap together the funds and justification for a new medium weight turnout...... see I am falling off the wagon already.

Actually what does one do with turnouts that are no longer watertight dispited being reproofed. One has unintentionally ended up as a dog bed!
