Today, he dealt with Poppy whilst I was at work when the vet came to do teeth and a general health check. In the past he has been on hand to hold Poppy when she has been shod and taken a dislike to the proceedings. The icing on the cake today, because the wheelbarrow is fuill of logs, he did the poo pick with the bobcat and made it so easy!! And he hates horses!! (or so he says!!) Must make him mince pies!!

Yes, the indoctrination process is subtle and starts innocently enough! "You'll have to come round one day and meet the horses" she said. After a few sessions of coming round and meeting the horses, "Can you give me a hand with this wheelbarrow, why don't you grab that shavings fork" she said.

After a numerous sessions of helping with the wheelbarrow and grabbing the shavings fork, "I'm running late" or "I'm not feeling well", "are you ok to 'do' the horse on your own?" She asked.

After 'do'ing the horse numerous times, "You spend so much time down here you might as well learn to ride" She said. "Once you're good enough, I might one day let you ride mine." She added.

After taking numerous lessons at the riding school, I was eventually judged worthy to sit atop her horse.

At some point, I must have qualified as boyfriend material and at that point, the trap was well and truly closed! ;)
