I am so excited!! My OH came with me to spend the day with my 2 boys on Sunday and got to know them a bit etc. I thought it was good when he said he wanted to learn a bit more about them so he could help out and stuff.

We then went to my friend's yard, who has quite a few neddies. There is one in particular - a big yearling colt, a stunning bay who I have had my heart set on ever since I saw him at a few days old. So I spend some time mucking around with him (as you do) and eventually tear myself away to go home. In the car on the way home, OH starts asking questions about said yearling, such as "how much would he be now" "how much would he be in a few years time when I can afford him" etc etc. After I'd answered a few questions he says, "well why don't we get him then? It makes more sense to do it now?!"

After being completely dumbfounded, I eventually found my voice to ask where that idea came from and that I couldn't afford him now, to which he replied, "I will buy him for you, and it's worth it to see the look on your face when you are with him."

Actually in shock. I am soooo lucky!

AWWWWWWWWWW!!!! How lovely !!

Hi K

Lucky you! But think long and hard about it - is another youngster really what you need/want? Not trying to rain on your parade but as you already have one yearling and one you were going to sell on (but he's lush and that hasn't happened yet

) why not look at someting you can ride and enjoy now? If you're sure he's what you what then good times!

He is defo what I want. I've thought about it properly and hand on heart know it is the right decision. Ponio was always bought to sell on, and October is the preferred time, although any opportunity that occurs before that is going to be considered. I've got my friends who want me to ride their horses so I've got various rides over prolonged periods whilst my two grow up (?!)

As soon as I've got him will post piccies - it should hopefully be some time next week
