I'd posted previously looking for recommendations of dog friendly hotels in Scotland to take my old boy on a wee holiday - http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=533070
We decided to head to Arran - somewhere I've never been before and had booked an overnight stay in the Auchrannie Resort & Spa.
Hotel was lovely, very pet friendly with their own Very.Important.Pooch entrances with clean towels and water bowls to clean up mucky pups. They gave us a room right next to the gardens so we pretty much went straight out into some fields and tracks.
Pup had a ball - although was very tired on the second day (he's 11 1/2)
Arran is a lovely place and we're hoping to go back later in the year.
Some piccies for anyone interested -
First time on a ferry - he was a bit unsure at first -
Straight off the boat and onto the beach -
Throw the stone!!!
Bridge over one of the many waterfalls in the forest
Recharging his batteries with some ice cream -
Posing in the woods -
Views on the Glen Rosa trail
The beach at Brodick bay
Brodick castle through the trees
Cold and windswept and ready to get the ferry home -
I highly recommend Arran for a doggy vacations -loads of lovely walks, and hill climbs and plenty to keep the pups happy!
