Not sure what just happened. We've only had our rescue rough collie since May, we think she's about 12-13 but apart from a few minor ailments she has been healthy. However, just a few minutes ago she started staggering around the room. I ran over to her and tried to calm her down but she was out of it and drooling a bit. I got her to lie down but her head was moving from side to side . I managed to calm her and she is now back to normal. Very scary. Any ideas what it might have been? Don't want to scare myself by googling symptoms and getting some awful diagnosis back. Thanks.

It's could be vestibular syndrome (a disturbance with her inner ear), are her eyes flickering or has she got a head tilt?

The other possibility is a fit, either way the best thing is to keep her quiet and pop her in to vets tomorrow for a check up. They might want to run some bloods, mainly to check her liver function xx

If her eyes are flickering then don't be suprised if she vomits or drools as it makes them feel very naseous because they can't focus on anything xx
