She's developed bit of a limp since January but has progressively got worse. Took her to the vet last night & he confirmed it is Arthritis.

(she's 10 yrs in April)

He gave me some medicine which she's to have once a day. I gave her the 1st dose last night & again this morning.

The improvement overnight is absolutley amazing!! She was like a big pup this morning running around, playing with our other lab, and even running at me as if to say "look I can run again"!

Any advice on any products I can give her along with her medicine?

I suggest Devil's Claw as it really helped our old lab

Just bought capsules from the health shop, broke them open and poured the powder over his food.

Brilliant! Thank you for your suggestions! I'll nip to a health shop on Saturday.

Woolly, where would I get Synoquin from?

My mums lab is knocking on for 10 years and has had arthiritis for about 3 years

I know she's gives her Joint Aid which is granules with Glucosamine, MSM etc. and it does her the world of good you can really tell the difference when she is on them & not. I believe you can get it from a pet shop or feed mill. Hope this helps

Brill, I'll look into the magnetic collar, thank you both!

I think I might of heard about the green lipped mussel thing.

If you have been given prescription medication that is obviously working, then I wouldn't give anything else at all. There is no benefit in overloading an old dog's system with "remedies", and you may do real harm to the kidneys or liver. I should definitely stick with the Rimadyl or Metacam, you can switch between these on your vet's advice to see what works best, but it's great that your dog is already feeling so much better.

My Rottie had arthritis and our vet prescribed Synoquin and Metacam. Huge improvement, The Metacam is a painkiller so you could double the dosage on really bad days.
