... just to confirm that my Parelli post was indeed just a joke and not serious
smile.gif
I haven't been to Pat Parelli's ranch, I haven't paid £5k to do a week's course and I'm not actually that nasty to the people that I acted like that towards last night - they knew it was a joke and were in on it.
wink.gif

I hope it hasn't offended anybody; I only posted it because I wanted to know if members on here who know me reasonably well think I would convert to Parelli, since I think me being pro NH but anti Parelli confuses a lot of people
grin.gif

On the plus side I see there is sensible and informative debate on there now, which is good

I would just like to point out that I am not behind any of the the trolls' posts; I was busted within 5 minutes of posting my thread, and felt really guilty about confusing people, I certainly couldn't keep up the pretence of a different user name for more than 5 minutes!

It was a bloomin' confusing experience and I promise normal Naturally service will be resumed immediately: No more posts like that again from me ever!

umm... that was trolling then, right? you lied in your post to see what reaction you'd get on here.
i made the mistake of believing you, and probably lent weight to your post being serious, because i answered it thinking it was genuine. in previous pms etc with you i thought you were genuine. now i seriously doubt that.

this forum is so full of knowledgeable and genuine people, giving invaluable advice for nothing, it's a real shame when trolls try to spoil it.

Im unimpressed with your admission and lack of apology.

I may not be into the subject matter but people took the time to respond to you and all you were doing was laughing behind your keyboard.

Sad and Pathetic.

How dissapointing. I wasted such a lot of time reading and then responding. However it was perhaps a bit naive of me to believe that someone who had been made redundant would spend 5K on going on a Parrelli course, but then again.....

I think that would be a shame Kerilli. In my opinion you are a very valuable addition to NL. Don't let some childish behaviour keep you away.

I'm sure there are plenty of us who do appreciate your posts, and I think you have so much knowledge to give.

Jo

I figured out that it cost a friend £12k to go there for 2 months, including travel, so it didn't surprise me at all. It just surprised me that Naturally might do it.

I did say I hope it hasn't offended anybody, but I am sorry if I have.

Yes, I guess it was a form of trolling, what I meant was that I was not behind any of the new user names who trolled the forum last night.

I have always been genuine on here, last night was the one and only exception and I am here today being genuine enough to come clean and apologise.

Ditto this

I don't really understand the motives behind your post or your admission now Naturally

So you saw all the silly troll threads on here and how they annoyed people and thought that you would do the same. All the time laughing at those who took it seriously with the other people who were "in on the joke"

I know where this has come from .... Im really really surprised and disappointed that those people involved think it was a bit of light relief for them.

Not big not clever not funny.

Er, why?
crazy.gif

I like the troll posts where everyone's 99% sure they're a laugh, but you seemed serious.

I don't mind, everyone can do what they want as far as I'm concerned, but I wouldn't be surprised if some people are unwilling to spend time replying to you if you ask for advice in future.

That said, Shilasdair for example, retains plenty of respect and she does this regularly.

Maybe the difference here is that either you weren't trying to make a serious point, or if you were, it certainly wasn't obvious.
confused.gif

So what about those people that defended you?! I still don't get why you did it, or what the point of it was, and I'm now pissed off that I spent time reading it. The NL has been so full or crap the last two days, where it's usually one of the most knowledgeable parts of the forum. And now you're "genuine enough to come clean and apologise".... if you were "genuine enough" you wouldn't have done it in the first place
confused.gif

Well people were saying it was better without us so quite a few of us were in on it. Personnally I don't think it went as planned we were only that once having a joke as it was becoming very stale and boring over the last few weeks. I also am sorry if I upset anyone but not Tarquin as it was all arranged I would never have told a newbit to Shut up because they were new.
crazy.gif
Spaniel never mind

I would like to know which users were 'in on the joke'. Just so I know which users get a kick from winding people up, so I can read their posts with a huge dose of salt in future

RIGHT you are very very naughty!!! as punishment you must attend all the uk parelli tor dates and report back to HHO after each one!! AND then after that you must never post anything tongue in cheek, that we dont get!!!! is that clear or do you need the naughty chair aswell!!!!

trust me, Thingy, or whoever you really are, if that is an example of your 'humour', then the people who were saying it was better without you (plural) were probably right.
so, informed, friendly horsey chatter and exchange of stories, information and advice is "very stale and boring"?
shame. I think this place is great... usually. I've learnt some absolutely invaluable stuff and made some good friends and contacts.
If it's that stale and boring here, please can I suggest you go and find somewhere else to play then, and leave it to those who enjoy it.
There are loads of other forums where that sort of thing is the norm, and regarded as hysterically funny, where grievous insult is par for the course (I used to frequent one, but the indiscriminate nastiness got too much!)

Have to say that I think the joke posts have been well and truly covered and are getting a little tedious now. It puts the backs up of some users and causes nothing but tension in our friendly little HHO community! I'd really like to see trolling week definitely over - because poor HHO admin who regulate the forum are going to be working much harder for the sake of those who think it is funny to try and deceive genuine posters.

Not me - I was having a horse stitched up when all this was going on, however I did come on here late last night (my time) and read some of the posts. I can't figure out whether all the trolls were regulars or if some were actually new trolls, however it seemed to me that it was a lively evening regardless - so does it really matter?

You know I think when you come on HHO a lot, you tend to get awfully sucked into it; it's only when you stop coming so frequently that you take it in a far more light-hearted way. I haven't been on much recently; too much going on in real life; so I can see that it really isn't such a big deal at the end of the day. I guess some folks will be cross, others will see it as a joke, that's life.
smile.gif

i'm with Arabelle, please would those who were in on the joke own up? i really can't be bothered to read the whole original post to try to work out whose posts i should ignore in future!
Tia, i can see your point, but i don't think that whether you're spending lots of time on here or not has any real bearing on whether you like being lied to and made to look a fool, for taking a spoof post as genuine.

I think if you are looking for a 'well done/its ok/it was funny....' etc etc I think you are in the wrong place. Patience has been worn thin by pointless posts at the moment.

Perhaps. I don't know, I think there is a difference between Naturally thread where, yes she did start off messing around, however before the thread ended, she came clean; therefore telling everyone she was messing around - hence, joke. Lying is quite something else in my opinion.
