My pony has a skin supplement that I have to feed to her in a jam sandwich, I use the Tescos own brand strawberry jam (about 88p

) she is quite happy with this and has been for about 2 months now.
I went away for a few days and left my OH is charge (BIG MISTAKE!!). I gave him clear instructions on all feeding etc and gave him a guided tour of everything (he knows where it all is anyway though).
He then apparently couldn't find the jam

.... it was next to the supplement itself. So he went home and got our jam, Tiptree strawberry jam (about £4.50

) and gave that to her. Now she won't touch the Tesco's jam and insists on being fed the blimin expensive one!! Plus, she has to have a lot of jam anyway to disguise the taste and we get through alot of it. I am not amused

So, has anyone got any other ideas for (cheap

) sandwich fillers? I was thinking honey but this may get messy.....

A happy compromise, Bonne Maman? Personally I think it's the best jam ever, and it's about £1.20 a jar. Tell your pony it's french and she'll love it.

Second the Lidl recommendation - cheaper than Tesco (about 79p last I bought it) and far superior. Probably chunks of fruit n'all. My mum loves the raspberry one, but you can get loads of flavours.
