A bit of history - Millie my little ponio has not done much even though she is 11 years old, she has as less mileage then most 5 year olds.
When she was younger she was VERY tricky, Dominant, Moody, Marish etc.
She would squeal and kick when anyone mounted her, she would bite and kick if anyone got too close, she would charge at people if they walked into her field and she was a nightmare to ride out with other ponies.
I was told more then once that she was 'good for nothing' and should be shot
Anywayyy......for the lat 3 days Millie has been to Pony Club Camp and has been better behaved then I ever thought possible
She Jumped everything she was pointed at including XC fences (she had never done XC before this week!) that I would think twice about myself (didn't like jumping into the water today though
) , she hasn't been silly, strong or nappy and most importantly for me she hasn't tried to kick any other ponies (or children) and has happily stood in a group and let other ponies get to close to her back end without reacting. She even gave a lead to other ponies that were refusing jumps!
They came joint 2nd in a chase me Charlie (Millie was the smallest pony in the group
)and 2nd in the Most improved Rider/Pony.
Today was the only day she got slightly fed up but because it was soooooo wet they spent a lot of time tied up in the barn, Millie got slightly crabby but nothing like what she used to be like!
They were taught by Rosie Thomas who was great with both the children and the riders!
Little Jockey was brilliant as always, I think her confidence really helped Millie through it all.
I am so, so pleased with my little pony, she gave everything she could and did not disappoint in the slightest, it's taken a lot of tome and patinece to get to this stage but now I feel I can finally say that my pony is a safe little all rounder and I couldn't be happier
