She is really feeling her age at the minute

She is very stiff after laying down for a long time and even limps a bit. She is worse on days she has had a long walk. Once she has walke d afew feet though she loosens up and is grand.

And today has been the worst by far

She was out for 50mins this morning with the labs and ran about a lot. Since she has come home she is really limping on her back left leg. In fact, she isn't even putting weight on it when standing. They are no injuries/cust to her leg or foot. But when giving her a once over to check she was very sensitive up in her stifle area.

Normally she gets high flex tablets, half a one a day but clearly they aren't working so I got her a joint oil today to start on. Severnmiles also said to try glucosamine, can you get it in a pure form or is it just in tablets etc? As there is glucosamine in the tablets.

I might go for the Devils Claw if this oil doesn't work? As it worked wonders for our old boy.

Try Nupafeed Flex GLM, it is fairly expensive I think (around £40 for 400 tablets) but my Mum swears by it. Earlier in the year her oldest cocker was unable to get out of bed, and we thought he wasn't going to make it to even the start of the winter, but now he is on one of these a day and he's a bloody tearaway! He even manages a few days working!

She tried giving them to the Cocker that's had two broken elbows, but they made him so comfortable he turned into a raving lunatic!

They are human grade, hence the expense. My friend takes them for her dodgy knees and can't play lacrosse without them!

Perhaps a little different because he is a horse, but Hen is on combination of Devil's Claw and Superflex, it has kept him going beautifully this year, no one believes he is 15!

Devils claw can cause heart murmurs, my vet said.
We have a border terrier with a very arthritic shoulder, we have tried all sorts! Now she is on 'joint aid for dogs' by Gro well feeds, its great and she is comleltey sound and can go out all day running around.
