i can't believe it, we just found out today my poor dog has cancer and its terminal. i can't believe she's going to die. She has a tumour in her neck and the think its a secondary tumour and the main tumour is probably deep inside her. it's such a shock as apart from a lump on her neck she has been so fit a healthy although she is 10 at xmas. they don't know how long she has it could be couple of months or if she continues to be well a year at most. i'm gonna miss her so much.

i hope that one night she will go to sleep and die in her sleep then i won't have to make the decision but when the time comes i want her put to sleep at home with dignity she deserves that at least.
 
That would be ideal but in reality it has never happened for my dogs. I feel a sense of relief when the time has come that it is all over for them and me.
 
So sorry to hear this, have you had a dog PTS before? If you are worried about it then please dont be, its a very peaceful, well handled time and one I wouldnt have changed for the world with my old boy. Huge hugs for you at this hard time x
