Dear puppy Sahara is proving to be a bit of a menace with Harry Hoof, she is convinced she is a pony and has to act like him, he was following me across the paddock whilst I was carrying his full haynet to put in his stable, Harry was snatching bites out of it and Sahara was also snatching mouthfulls and running away, much to Harrys annoyance, she also dives headfirst into his feed bucket and pulls mouthfulls of that out, how on earth he hasnt turned around and booted her one is beyond me, she also thinks she is really helpfull when I am mucking out by picking up lumps of droppings in her mouth and spreading them around the whole stable
on another note, poory Harry thinks I am starving him, he is turned out all day, grass is really short but enough to sustain him, he gets two feeds of hi fi dengie light a day with the evening one being bigger and a full haynet overnight which he finishes, his weight to me is spot on, I can feel his ribs but cant see them and he has no crest, he is also on really light work mainly a mile or so walk out in hand everyday and ridden once or twice a week by my young son, is it normal for ponies to act like they are starving, I know they can be greedy but he tries to wolf down his feed like he hasnt been fed for a week! should I be giving him something else, a supplement or something whilst the grass is short? thanks in advance x
