Can anyone reccomend a big wheelbarrow. Not for poo picking, just mucking out.

I have a Toby-Tuff barrow. Takes loads, well balanced so can push it with one hand and wont fall over. Probably the biggest manual barrow on the market. It is about £200 but definately worth it. Have a shop around though, as some ag stores sell it cheaper than horsey places.

Avoid the Trojan barrows - the wheels sit underneath the load, and they tip really easily. They are a good size, but very unstable.

Take a look at your local builders merchants, you will find good quality & well made barrows there. Beware of buying a 'Super Barrow', they may carry a lot but they can be so heavy it'll do your back or pull your arms off.

We have a Trailerbarrow - not cheap, plastic, very stable and can be pulled full by a 10 year old, as it has a pole handle rather than 2 handles, so you pull it rather than push it, it's also v ery stable when you tip it to empty.

Not sure if they're still made but we got it for my Dad about 15-20 years ago when he had a big garden and was finding a normal barrow difficult
