Sorry post re. my rent lady!

She has phoned me up saying she doesnt think it will work as she doesnt drive and its too far etc etc etc.

She has asked me too look up local sanctuary's for her to give her colt too

as she doesnt have the internet. She doesn't want to take him to the sales as she would be worried about where he ended up!

I told my friend this and she said she thinks the lady wanted me to say 'oh, don't send him to a sanctuary, i'll have him'

Should I offer?

The lady was in tears by the end of the phone call!

She is coming tomorrow aft to collect the money she gave me. She wanted me to text her some sanctuary details

Do you mind if I give you a friendly kick up the posterior?
I thought you wanted to make some money, not spend it on another horse, one that needs gelding to boot!
Tell her to contact the Blue Cross - and get the number by ringing directory enquiries.

I know!!!

Was only asking as i have a fields full of grass and would hate the poor little pony to end up at the sales!

You can't save them all. And I think I remember from another thread that you really need the money, so fields full of grass will help with that. Don't take my comments the wrong way, I know it's hard, but sometimes people have to take responsibility for their own problems.

I wouldn't want to buy him off her but if she is going to give him to a sanctuary she maybe doesnt want any money for him?

I could sell him on again but he is 11.2hh 2/3yo colt - would i need to get him gelded? what could i sell him as? how would you break a little pony that size?

Send her some Sanctuary numbers. She may have been hinting, but you don't know, so don't offer. At least if he goes to a Sanctuary, a good home is his for life. They will geld him, handle him and possibly loan him out.

Just give her the money back and thank goodness you don't have to worry about whether or not she was the right tenant. From experience of renting out my yard it's better to tell people who give you a gut instinct that things won't work out that you have a few other people to view the place and will get back to them ( please make sure you do give them a call though) l would rather leave my place empty than have an unsuitable tenant on it. Don't let it put you off renting it out though as the right person will come along when you least expect it.
