i recently took a wee shetland on lwvtb who had been on loan to a RS but due to her not getting any turnout, was a bit too 'pingy' on the leadrein to be much use. I tried to find out her history and traced a succession of 6 owners (inc loan home), her passport has her at being 8 years old.

I have seen photos and video footage of this pony from 2009 onwards, being ridden and led about by tots, being jumped on and climbed over when grazing in the field and believe me this pony does not react or bat an eyelid. to the point I wouldnt have blamed her for having a little buck or kick:o

I got her as a companion primarily and also hopefully as future leadrein. Since I have had her she has loaded and travelled 100%, led in up the road with my mare and been impeccable. She has a had a full clip and didnt move a muscle and been bitted with no issues. (she was led in a headcollar before).

My vet was out today and has told me she is no more than a 4 year old, rising 5! So we worked out that this saintly little soul was basically backed and being ridden at 2 and in a RS at 3, and whatsmore has never put a foot wrong! I am definitely going to buy her and my vet is writing a certificate to get her passport changed. Ponies like her are worth their weight in gold!

awww, she's lovely - I'm not always the biggest fan of shetlands, but she is just beautiful. So glad that she's found herself a lovely home to take care of her :)

A saintly Shetland? Really?! ;) :D

Shudder for her history but lovely to hear how appreciated she now is. Cute face (on a Shetland... I must need a lie down... :D)

She is adorable, I want to cuddle her! :) She sounds like a very honest, genuine pony, definitely a keeper by the sounds of it. If it doesn't work out though, put a stamp on her and I'll gladly take her off your hands :D

She looks exactly like the Shetland pony my yard manager owns and my little boy rides and I call him St Whitty cos he is solid as a rock! He is in his early 20's though so I guess slightly different!

Gorgeous! She looks very much like my friend's miniature Shettie, who is equally saintly. He was bought at auction when a youngster as a companion but has been ridden by every small child in the district and also drives.

I rode a Clydie gelding at a RS, who was believed to be 4, he behaved impeccably on the evening there were fireworks going off all around. then he was found to be only 2 - he went back to the previous owner to grow up.
