.. has just text me to say she can't come anymore as split up with her O/H and needs to find house/job/car etc. I was fairly friendly with her hence I feel guilty asking her for the money she owes me but then again she does owe me about £80! Plus, i had the farrier out a few weeks ago which she owes me half for as well (so about £110 in total) I e-mailed her yesterday asking her in a nice polite mannor but she hasn't got back to me (she usually e-mails off her phone straight away!) and i doubt she will get back to me as she knows she owes me money. Would you phone her or just leave it? I feel sorry for her with her situation so don't want to sound harsh!

i had the same problem a few years ago girl had my horse on loan one night she decided she couldnt afford her anymore
she left me with bills for 2 mnths livery hay and bedding I never got any back

Not really sure these things work. I have a horse I share with someone. She is really bad at paying but does eventually. My problem with her is she only does him on the days she rides him and then only putting him out or bringing him in. Its really frustrating. Also she never washes his bit after she rides him. etc... I know they sound really trivial things but they can grate on you. I also think that if you are the owner of the horse your more protective of them. I had a sharer who wanted to move him to another yard, glad I didn't say yes
 
I had the same problem colourednut! She was v friendly but never once poo-picked, tack cleaned, etc. She would only come on the days she could ride (eg, only when it wasn't raining!) and just bring the horse in, quick flick over with a brush, ride then that's it!!!

I know what you mean horsey_gal mine doesn't poo pick unless I tell her to do it, clean tack etc.... But she is queen of giving him a cuddle and carrots etc.... I keep saying to her "He rather you spent the time cleaning his bit or picking up his sh*t rather than being kissed and cuddle. Its really funny peoples interpretation of loving a horse
 
i once had someone who took my little one on full loan, left me with 5 months full livery which came to just over £1000.
 
Leave it. You won't get the money - she's a time waster. Don't let her come back either once she's sorted out - if she ever wants to. Find someone else to share if you need to and get the details sorted before it starts - get a contract drawn up and stick to it.
