I have been at Walsgrave Hospital all day with my son, and although my ponies are ok as they were fed this morning I normally go up and check them and let my sisters mares in about 4 o'clock every day.....

I am now in bed and have just realised they weren't brought in, by me anyway. Hubby has said tough doh dah, she knew where I was (son has been in hospital in the HDU since thursday night extremely ill) and she should have thought about bringing her own horses in for just one night.

I feel so awful as I can't call her as she will be asleep and I have to walk 30 minutes to do them so if I get there and they are in I will have spent an hour in the pitchblack for no reason. Please tell me they won't melt in the rain...........

On a better note my "cheap nasty M&M's" are tough enough to last the night at least.

If they have rugs on and shelter / trees / hedges etc. THEY WILL BE FINE!!!

They are horses! :) They will probably enjoy a night on the tiles. The weather is not that bad. If it was 10ft deep in snow, side of a mountain / high peaks etc, then I would be concerned. But in the general scheme of things they should be fine if a little windswept in the morning. :)

Try not to worry.

Hope your son gets better soon. xxx

Thanks. I hope my sister feels the same....

My middle daughter offered to go up with me but hubby said absolutely not because its off the beaten track and he read the local crime results online tonight..not a good read

One would have thought that if your sister knew where you were, then she would have been organising the neds and making sure that your lot were being taken care of as well...

Hope your son is doing okay hun!

Agree with Mrs M. I think if your sister says anything she will feel really stupid afterwards. I am sure she won't and will have been sensible to go up and see to hers and yours too.
Hope your wee fella is ok. x

Agree with mrs mozart your sister knew where you were at the hospital with a very sick munchkin, so..................

If the horse had been left in without any hay, then I'd feel bad, but left out with food (grass) and water is not a problem. If she had been worried she could have gone up herself - perhaps she could for a bit while you get your family better? If I'd had a sister like you, I'd have rung and offered to check yours for the next few days, not expected you to do mine!

It's her horse - she's your sister - she should be taking care of hers and yours - that is what a sister should do.

- okay if you sister isn't horse minded (like mine) she would at least arrange for someone to help out

You have to look after your son - I'm with your OH on this one.

Hope you son gets better soon.

Thanks all, well I ran up in the dark (no car ) at midnight lol...got there and my sister had brought them in earlier in the day, apparently she had told my youngest to let me know but numpty didn't tell me!

If I hadn't gone up they had a hay roll in the field so wouldn't have starved, I just felt awful because of the wind, my lot were out still but I let them there as they were happy enough anway

Poor you - all that worry! Anyone would think we lived back in the '80s with no texting machines!!! :D:D:D
