So went on sat having not ridden in a month, and horsey not jumped since I was last home (i.e a month!). Hopped on and we were quite excited, thought he might forget his mantra (never ever buck or rear with mummy on board) but no, settled and god is his flatwork nice
. He currently lives with my trainer and he's really working on getting him stretching, which he is doing nicely. Jumping was certainly interesting....we had to settle a bit but then continued. Did the 85cm xc/sj, had one down but lucky not to have more! Lots and lots of head tossing to object to control of pace BUT he did listen to my control and wasn't worried by any of the fences which I'm glad as his last xc was necarne which didn't end well, and was concerned he might had thrown the towel in (unlikely I have to say!).
So that was good. At £18 not cheap though! Entered the 1m sj (£12!!) and had er....untold number of faults as the poles just went flying. Not sure if he had tweaked his back or what but we had lots of charging at jumps. Slightly better in the second round but just didn't get the rhythm.
Had a lesson on sunday with Oli Townend, v. good and got a rhythm but he was not right on the right rein, nobody seemed to believe me but theory def. right as on mon when went to hack he was definitely sore, kept nearly losing his back end. Apparently getting better now so hopefully just tweaked something on sat and will be good, otherwise will have to go visit the vet as was fairly severe!
