My spaniel has a rather embarrassing question for you...

He's too shy to ask himself, so I offered to do it for him!

When he rolled over on his back yesterday I noticed two very hard lumps (golf ball size) either side of the base of his willy

(but not his testicles - they're a bit further back and look in tact!) They were rock hard but didn't seem to hurt at all and he's a real wimp when you try to do something to him. He is running, weeing and pooing completely normally.

When my son got home from school I asked him about it but he wouldn't look

When my OH got home from work he wasn't too keen to look either but finally late that evening I managed to get Flyn to roll over to show OH and they'd gone

Are there some glands there? Can anyone shed any light?

My OHs JRT has lumps like this, they're a bit further down? I've no idea what they are! Sometimes they are there, sometimes not.

All the more reason to keep bitches

I think you mean the glands that swell/harden when they get excited...they function in the tying process when they mate

LOL... Mine does it when he's happy and excited... He once pulled whole willy out and couldn't get it back in.... A trip to the vets, the vet saw funny side of it and tend to Boris for free of charge! I thought netured dogs don't have those sexual feelings but balls or no balls there's no difference!
