She was scanned for 7 puppies so we will see what we get, i have done lots of foaling and lambing but not puppies oh i am so excited but nervous too

How exciting! Keep us updated on her progress and make sure and get plenty of pictures

Oh good luck! She's a couple of days early if I remember rightly; they're probably fed up with being squashed up!
Whether it's good for them or not, our bitches loved a saucerful of warm tea with sugar every now and then during labour. Just have plenty of towels and make sure pups can stay warm once out of the big dark warm cave they've been in, it's not a nice day to be born!

I know it's hard but try not to worry too much - I'm sure she'll be just fine. None of the signs you mention are unusual.

Just be on hand to help her if need be. And if you feel you need assistance may be it would be a good idea to have your vet on the end of the phone when your little girl starts giving birth. I had my vet on the phone when my little girl had her litter and I must say I learnt a lot in a very short space of time. I have helped other births since then and make no mistake, I still get a little nervous - but all has been well at the end. I am due a litter on the 4th of feb and have everything prepared but I know when the times comes I'll still be a little nervous.

Just let your girl know you are there if she needs help. Speak to her as she is giving birth to each pup, keeping her calm and letting her know she is safe.

Please will you keep me updated? I'd love to know how she is getting on.
