I bought my horse oscar in january he is an ex racer and he was on his own where he lived before. He is now turned out with 4 others. He was really bad when i first got him with re to being left on his own but slowly got better and i also found if he could see the others he was absoultly fine. Now he has been changed to the summer turnout field which is about a mile n half long river bank iv brought him in for his feed today and he was going mad cantering around in circle winning n being very distressed. He wouldnt eat his dinner n was getting even more anxious. I cant even tye him up to groom or anythigs as he just spins around and gets himself into a state. I Was going t try to bring him up every day for around 10 mins and then build this up t see if he gets any better??? Just woundering if any one has a horse who was previously like this n got better n what you did??? Im Getting myself all stress about this as i dont like to see him like this.
Any help would be gratefull recive. ;(

I've just posted a similar thread about my stressy TB mare who can't stand it when one horse leaves the field. I have a 21 year old TB gelding who behaves like yours. When I bring him in, he shouts and shouts. I put him in his stable and let him get on with it. After about 20 minutes he stops and goes into a sulk at the back of his box. But in answer to your question - no, they don't get any better, sorry! You just have to learn how to live with it! Welcome to the world of TB ownership!

i was having the same problem, i have now borrowed a mini shetland who is out with him, he still calls when i take my mare out but so does the little one aswell ;-) but he isnt running round hysterical anymore.
