Just to keep me from going mad until the Vet gets to us this afternoon.
She has been lame on and off on front for a couple of weeks, intitially we thought it was a 'tweak' so rested.
she was then fine on lunge on hard and soft ground - fine on straight line trot up although first couple of steps were 'short'
have been gently riding out and had a few short 'test' trots. All felt fine. had a walk and small trot in a rather deep school that we had, she didnt feel sound.
yesterday hacked out - she was very forward going - marching along ear pricked. had a couple of 'tests' trots all ok - but on the way home she kept going lame for a few steps every now and then, kept pulling over to the 'softer' verge not wanting to go on the stony track. and when we hit a soft earth patch she went lame again for a few steps. In between the lame steps she was fine/sound marching forward ears pricked.
i have left her in today for fear that it may be lammi and vet is due this afternoon. (farrier tomorrow) wanted it the other way round but paniced this morning and rang the vet to come today.
i am so worried it is something seious.
any ideas to help me get through the day please......

You should probably wait to get the vets opinion rather than asking us lot - we could end up making you worry.

It could be anything from a bruised foot from standing on a stone to navicular. Wait for the vets opinion. Good luck.

Of course the vet will sort you out but my TB did similar last week - the ground is rock hard at the moment, yours probably has bruised soles/corns, I'm hoping that's all mine has (vet & farrier think so too). Fingers crossed that's all it is but Red's are taking their time to get right....

I agree wait for vet. Sounds like what happened to my boy but no point worrying you if it isn't.
Good luck and hope it's something simple :)

sounds like something going on in hoof, she could have an abcess brewing up or a bruise. Don't panic to much, it will sort out!

Mine is prone to abcess. If it is, then highly recommend, deep bedding upto stable door unless you have rubber matting. Epson Salts foot tubbing twice a day on top of what vet suggests. Make sure the other foot (the non lame side) is protected too as standing on one side all the time can cause complication in other foot due to all weight being puy on this side. Hopefully its nothing. Good Luck and lets us know how you get on

I have been thinking about posting almost word for word the same as you. My share keeps doing this. He came in from the field about 3 weeks ago when it was quite deep and was dipping a bit on his left fore. We rested him for a week or so and since then he has been fine some days, then a bit uneven on others. He doesn't dip much now, it is more uneven and a bit 'short'. It's more when going downhill or in the school which is quite deep at the moment.

We are resting him one more time over the weekend and then i think the vet might have to come out if he isn't getting better. I'm wondering if it's a bit of stiffness developing in his knee or something. Although the heat was initially in hi lower leg. They like to keep you guessing don't they!

Let us know what the vet says x
