Many years ago my daughter now in her 30's had a hamster, female. She wanted to call it Kevin. "But Kevin is a boys name" said I. "It's my hamster and I can call it whatever I like" said daughter. So Kevin she was named.
She was about 5 if I remember rightly.
My 5 year old is convinced her pony is a mare, despite the fact he's called Sully, is obviously male (late gelded so has stallion crest etc) and has actually sired several foals! I've given up as even if I manage to persuade her one day, its back to "she" again the next. He's just had to get used to wearing pink and frills.
Oh but she is so pretty and obviously female, you can't call her Kevin, a boys name! ! LOL
(At least certainly not if you're ever going to sell her in the future!!)
She needs a little tlc, a good groom, feet need a good trim, she's getting a full work up and look over by the vet next week and booked in to get her teeth done - they've never been done and we're sending off a worm count on Monday as well because she hasn't ever been wormed (the lady said she just used garlic) also have the physio booked for my big lads in two weeks so I'll have her looked over then as well as she's had four foals and she's only just turned ten so, it's worth just looking her over.
I'm really pleased with her though, she is taking everything in her stride, she never left that little postage stamp paddock her whole life except for the odd walk along the lane or to be tied up while the other ponies were worked. She followed me right onto the trailer, she traveled like a dream, and she came off the other side like she has always been here. I love her!
I know a horse called Kevin ... because the owner reckons if he was human he'd be an estate agent and he has white socks !
Kevin is good, pony doesn't know any different.
