my tom thumb is differnt?

I have the same one you do... took me ages to find one after I borrowed it off a friend....think the extra copper helps them to mouth the bit

i borrowed one off a mate and got this one

she told me it was just a normal tom thumb but now iv looking on the internet and they all seem to be this one

so just wondered is there that much difference?

My English TTs have copper inserts on just one side of the mouthpiece.

American TTs are different. I use a curb strap for both types.

I can canter on a hack though choice now!! ;) lol
i havent jumped yet.. wanted to get outside so could do poles and just something small and tricky to get her thinking, but melts night comes and then it freezes again, hopefully it will rain friday night so can jump saturday and see if i have control this time :p ;) :D x

The one you have has a smooth side and a side with copper ridges. You can use it either way around - if the smooth side is against the bars of the mouth then it is less harsh than if the ridges are against the bars of the mouth. So check what way round you have it. The second bit you posted doesn't have copper ridges on it.

Ohh right, erm the stripes are facing her teeth? and the non stripped side is facing her back of her mouth if you get me? is that the harsher one? if so ill change it round....
Ohh i get it now thanks :) x

Lol, lets not start that again.

If the ridges are touching the corners of her mouth, and the stripes aren't touching anything if she opens her mouth, then thats the strong way. (If that makes sense?)
