…. And has asked me “what the heck is that man doing to that poor horse?” ….. which is a fair question really. I have attempted to explain the finer points of top level dressage (to an elderly man with early stage dementia) but found it hard to explain why the horse was moving in what seemed to him to be a completely unnatural way. He pointed out - quite correctly - that “your horse doesn’t trot like that”, and that “It looks really uncomfortable for the horse and the rider.”

I’m interested to hear what anyone else would have said in response.

I was listening to the Lottie’s test on 5Live this afternoon . The commentator described the dressage arena as like a football pitch but with A and C markers where the goals should be.🤦‍♀️

My OH has been teaching shooting all day, and the Dutch de Froger family turned up with a television crew, sound, producer etc and delayed the next group… OH appeared at our house and asked me to make a cuppa for the four men who were then delayed for their lesson…

Me ‘Come in, sit down, I’m watching the dressage Olympics, there’s two to go before Lottie Fry, we’re all watching it.’

They told my OH later that they’d learnt loads! 🤣
