Lovely whippets, if I knew how to post a picture, I'd send one of my 5 !!! Sadly only two left now.

Oh for days when I had piles of sleeping whippets. Whippet No.1 had ten puppies a few years back, imagine sitting on the sofa with ten babies, and two adults. Bliss.

Oh what lovely pics

Peggy looks so sweet retrieving, I shall have to see if I can train my two to do that

they are lovely - how DO you get them to retrieve. when mine have something they run off as fast as possible in the opposite direction and hide it

both of mine always retrieve ...didnt really need to train them....food helps...Bow my younger whippet, 8 out 10 times will go and fetch and retrieve
i can remeber first time peggy caught a bunny she bought it back whole...she was so pleased with her self...

SouthWestWHippet - lots and lots of encouragement and excitement to get them to retrieve to hand, all those excited sounds they associate with you being pleased, and as they get close, maybe back away a little so they come right up to you (and hopefully give to you!). If they don't give up whatever they have, DON'T PULL! They will only pull too, and you will have a tugging match (and then the rabbit splits in half...), wait for them to give it up!
