We lost my daughters wonderful fantastic pony seven weeks ago. He was her everything, and I have to say I loved the little chap more than you could know.
It had been a very long fight to try and get him right....but sadly he would not respond to treatment and we had to admit defeat.
I rang my insurance company, got my claims form sent to vet and they dealt with it all. Up until now I haven't been able to have a conversation about him without turning into a snivling mess who makes no sense.
But today I admitted I had to sort out my loss of animal claim, so I phoned my insurance to sort it out.....turns out my vet has started that ball off for me, has already sent in his loss of animal report and filled in all forms. Wow....just to let you know I know my vet very well and he has known how hard I have found the last six months, as the pony being ill came hot on the heels of me having to let my own gelding go as well.
So I am sat here pleased to have such a good vet who actually knows his clients.

What a great guy. I love to hear happy stories. I also have lovely vets and I know how lucky I am. I always come off the phone to them feeling much better.

Really sorry for your loss though :(

Aw sorry to hear of your sad losses, its heartbreaking.
Your vet sounds a bit like mine, i cant speak highly enough of him, im so glad your vets took it forward for you, vets like that are a gem to treasure

My vet was the same when I lost my mare.
Rang the insurance company on our behalf to try and persuade them to pay out for death and LOU. It didn't work but we appriciated the effort, especially since we didn't ask him to, he did it off his own bat!
