My rising 4 year old Oldenburg is currently 15.2hh, when we got him last may he was 15hh and the string test predicts a height of 16.2hh and both parents are 16.2hh.

He is growing and have a feeling he will be huge but very strange watching a horse grow at this age so much, knowing he still has a long way to go.

Does anyone have any pictures of their fully grown horses with rosandro, rosario, rubenstein, jazz or have they reached expected height. He was not the first foal so nothing to do with mothers first baby being smaller etc..

Aww I bet he will keep growing til at least 6, I have heard of people buying warmblood 4yos at 16.2 that have grown another hand and that can be up til 7 or 8!

I have a rising 6 year old Oldenburg by Indoctro

He still has a long way to go, standing at 17.1 now was 16.3 as a 4 year old but still very gangly and so much filling out to do.

My vet told me he won't be fully grown and filled out untill he is 8 years old.

My sportshorse (mostly warmblood) is also a slow grower. She'll be 3 in March, stands just short of 15hh just now and is to make 16/16.1 like her parents.

I swear she's only inched up an inch since beginning of last summer :)

That's what I feel like!! 15hh at 3 it is almost unbelievable that they will hit 16.1hh. He seems the same height for ages then shoots up 2 inches at a time!

My Hanoverian (Donnerhall x Ramiro x Gambler's Cup) is rising 4 and I measured him last week at 17.1. He's still all legs and a bit bum high, and I reckon he's got a few inches left to grow. :o

17.1! you will need a step ladder!! and whisp&willow mine when he just turned 3 was 15hh maxmim and was that height for a good 4/5 months, seemed like a lifetime. i dont think mine is actually growing that slowly, just because i'm obsessing, seems to take ages a bit like watching the clock

My WB is rising 4 (in April) and 17.1hh (probably 17.2hh now but I daren't measure her really ;)) she was much smaller when I bought her at 2 1/2, and with both parents approx 16.1hh I wasn't expecting her to be quite so big. I am also interested in how much others have grown after 4 as I'm hoping she will be slowing down now!
