My weather forecast, what rug would you put on?

Well I would go for mw, if its going to feel like 4 degrees that pretty chilly. But its becoming apparent that I'm in the minority with my rugging

It's quite sunny here & the wind is warm rather than cold, so Adrian has just got his lightweight on. It's borderline whether he needs it at all tbh, but I can't be bothered with grooming off mud, I'm afraid!

That was my dilemma Chex. I've always gone with the "under 10 degrees M/W rule of thought". It doesn't feel mild here, it feels like November time.

I went with the majority at the time, which was L/W but I'm beginning to regret it as the forecast omitted the rain that's now falling!

At the mo mine are nacked

but they're fat and they're got trees for shelter and down here at the mo it's SUNNY!!! EVEN THOUGH WE HAD AN AWFUL START!!

I think just stick a light weight on if he's got grass or if you put hay out, he will make body heat, the rug will just keep that chill off of his back for him

Lol, mine is under 12 for lw, under 8 for mw, under 5 for heavy and under 0 for super heavy. Complicated thing this rugging business

Of course this all changes when it rains

When I checked the weather for here and it said it would be 2 degrees here, feeling like 0 I was very tempted to put his hw on

, but his fullneck mw should keep him warm enough

mine is still naked even in all the rain, so id say it depends how much your horse dislikes getting wet

p.s ive used that site many times and often found that the "feels like" column is often colder than it actaully is
