I have now learnt;
my horse has far better manners than I thought
however hard you try some people won't listen
however hard you try for it not to be, its a full time job
and that I can muck out 4 stables in 30 minutes when I need to

Oh and I managed to organise the (safe) arrival of 2 new horses without their owner being present and they seem to have settled fine.

Now I am 100% positive my YM deserves his time off

I think all liveries should have to do a couple of days as YM - makes them realise all the running about they do for people!! I know some people at my yard that would benefit from being YM - might make them think twice about some of their demands.......

its not just looking after the horses , its organising deliveries , keeping liveries happy etc

Today I haven't stopped (been on the yard since 8) and I'm still not done as I have to go back out and check the two new'uns are ok in an hour

i think it would be great for all liveries to have to spend a couple of days as a YO/YM..... mmmmm now, which of my liveries should i ask first, and if i am still around, am i allowed to be a fussy livery?

I have enjoyed it - be nicer if it was a full livery yard and I didn't have to deal with people though

We have a yard of 27 horses , 5 foals , 3 donkeys and 2 pigs and i've had to keep an eye on it all

Okay get the tissues out I work full time for the NHS, run a DIY livery yard with 25 horses, 3 of which are mine, 3 breeding sows and a boar, around 10 piglets at any one time, one goat, 7 sheep, 7 lambs, 1 ram, 1 bull, 40 cattle and 60 chickens and in my spare time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I actually manage to go out competing and sometimes have to work in the farm shop at weekends.
