So this week I had decided I would sell my lovely mare. Because of family reasons. Lunged her today and now I think something is wrong with her back end.
She is slipping, doesnt look like she's using her legs properly, almost looks in pain, and she slipped and fell right onto her side! Winded herself and clearly didn't look right so I stopped and put her back in her field.
I am waiting for my riding instructor to come and see what she thinks Abd then I think I'm gunna get the vet, but in my opinion it doesn't look good :(
I don't think it is wobblers as my old boy had that and so I kinda know what I'm looking for, unless it is a mild case, but it look like she doent have full control over her back legs.
I don't know if she has had a fall and done any damage.
She is only 7 and I feel awful.
I can't afford tests to be done, so am gunna ask the vet to tell me exactly how it is!
This and my old boy is enough to put me off horses for life :(
I don know what to do. If she is in pain, I will not try and sell her on, but I also can't afford to keep her anymore.
I am just absolutely sick to death with it all. My poor girl.

Really feel for you- sounds like your having a tough time.

I would see what the vet says, and I would get the farrier and back person out too to see- it may be something relatively simple to sort.

Hope you get some 'good' news soon :)

Can't be that serious if she has only just started to be like this. Could she have had an accident in the field? I would box rest her for a few days and then start walking her out and start again slowly.

No no no no moodymare_1993 i cant believe im reading this! I so wanted things to work out ok for you :(
Take it one step at a time and see what your instructor/vet thinks. Keep us updated =/

Had my instructor out for a second opinion as she has been helping me from the very start. She doesn't think it's anything sinister, more a sore back and she said she's dropping her right quarters more than the left, she said she would get the vet out for peice of mind, but not emergency so will ring on monday. and that it might be worth having physio. However like you say honetpot, I have a sinking feeling inside, and I have been feeling it for a while however just thought it was my mind playing tricks on me, but that was this morning when I lunged I thought I have to get a second opinion. So I will see how I get on with the vet. For the first time in my life, I feel like giving horses up for good :(

Have just seen wagtails thread on symptoms of unsound ness...forgive me if I'm wrong wagtail, but on your second paragraph of your thread is the same symptoms that I think my mare has, but you explained it a lot better than I did.
