Had an eventful weekend
Firstly I'll give you the report from my dressage competition on Rocks on Friday. He warmed up nicely but a little strong, went into the arena and he did a lovely test. Carried himself lovely but had a buck and a fart in the second canter transition....We got 63% and weren't placed, however I was really pleased with him. My mum filmed it so watched it back and MY GOD my riding was truly frightful, my hands were moving far too much causing his head to move - so now I know i need to keep my hands still!!!
Then on to today....hmm....
Took Bria to her first EVER SJ competition (a clear round competition day at Crofton). Just entered her in the 2'6" as shes only been jumping 2months. Warmed up beautifully, jumping the top of the wings though! Making a beautiful shape with it though lol anyway, went in for our first round....my god...frightful!! Stopped at first and second jump....(has never stopped before but had her mare head on today!)...came round to fence 3 which had a trappy little gate type filler underneath it....she stopped on take off...and reared VERTICLE and landed on the jump.....So i stopped, got myself a whip, went in for a second round and went round beautifully all be it a little too fast for my liking!!!
Both rounds are on film which i'm getting the dvd of tommorow so will post pictures and videos tommorow - having watched it back on video i have no idea how I stayed on!! She then refused to load so was having one of those days!!
Her innocent look...
Am taking Rocks jumping tommorow to see how he handles it with his breathing, if all goes well will take him to Pinkmead next weekend. Got a jumping lesson on saturday with Bria so will get some photos of that! Also taking Storm, a new ride, to his first SJ competition at pinkmead on sunday too so that will definately be worth some photos as boy can that horse jump!!
So there you go
