Firstly can I say for goodness sake admin sort this forum out it's a nightmare tonight

My weekend started on Friday when I went off to Charlton Park PN. Got up early and set off as it was me and my dog. As long as I have plenty of time I don't mind going on my own. Arrived in plenty of time and walked sj and XC course. Nothing much had changed since last year and the dreaded double of white houses were in there

Did all that and had 2 hours to spare so started studding up. As usual they refused to go in and I got a bit stressed. Finally got them in, tacked up and went over. She warmed up nicely and I felt very smart and comfy in my new dressage saddle

Just warmed up a bit too long as she died a bit in test but it felt nice. Passed Zara Phillips as I came out as she was next after me

Dashed back to lorry as I only had 40 mins. Quickly changed and went over. No one there and fences ridiculousy high so jumped a x pole (the wimp that I am) a few times and go in. Charm jumped lovely I rode like a muppet but she was very honest for nice clear

Too early for dressage score. Quick change again and over to XC.
Charmy had a major napping fit at the start and I was panicing as they called 30 secs and we were no where near start box. Nice lady kindly gave me a lead in and we were off. Jumped fence 1 slowly as she was half thinking of napping but slap from me and we were away

She did a huge jump at number 3 and then galloped off into nice pace. Jumped everything nicely. Came to the dreaded houses and I was determined we weren't going to stop at them this year.
Came wide gave her time to see them, then squeezed with all my might, growled and slapped down leg. She had a major spook but luckily went and I heard fence judge say well done which was nice

I was one of the last to go in my section so dismounted and as I was walking back they said I was 4th place but had time to be added

I was so excited and grinning. Came back and started to sort out pony when they announced that I had come 3rd

Picked up prize and dressage sheet. Had 34.8 dressage and double clear with no time.
Made my day.
Next day Charm's halo didn't last long as she managed to kick me in hip in stable. I was bent over double winded

madam. She went out in field and I went to work. That night went to see Aspects of Love in theatre. It's on tour and if you like theatre and it's near you I can def recommend it

Davis Essex is in it and rather attractive for an older man

Anyway thanks for reading

Very well done, I am so so pleased for you! I think it is that fab XC training you had at the start of the season myself

I am thrilled she went for you over those dreaded houses, by all accounts they caused some problems this year too!

Oh wow what a good result!!
If ever you are on your own come and find me, I can flit between you and CCJ I'm sure.
Well done for winning over the houses, she sounds to be going really well apart from the kicking..
