I will try and keep this as short as possible or try to make a long story short! I have been helping out a person on my yard with his horses...one of them I adore. It has been general things, mucking out, turning out, haying, bringing in etc. This has been going on for a few weeks now. I have of late thought he was taking the mickey. He doesnt work, lives in the village, where the yard is but still doesnt get up to the yard til sometimes gone 6 or 7 at night. Last week it was well over 8. He also has his brothers step daughter come up and help or do most things also...she is just eleven years of age.
The one horse can be unruly going out and is quite strong. When you get to he gate he tries to gallop off with his headcollar on and if you hold on he rears vertically, so today I had someone stromnger take him out whilst i did the gate. Tried it on but the person managed to control him. The day went by and I was working, then I got Flint in but I didnt get the other horse in, there was 3 others out after I boiught in. At 6 o'clock my friend rang me to say she had just bought her horses in and the other horse was going mental, and said it would be best to get him him. The step daughter was there and she asked to bring in and I said no- Leave him. Because she is an eleven year old girl and knowing how this horse would be, I thought her welfare would be the most sensible thing to look out for in this case. I wondered over to the canteen, got a coke and saw the yard owner who asked me to get the horse in as he was upsetting the dressage- I was on my way up there anyway. Bought him in and shoved him in the stable. So here is the upsetting bit!!
I got a voicemail left at 8.30 tonight which said
"if you turn the effing horse out, you effing bring it in. How dare you tell (girls name) not to get him in when he's galloping around! you dont leave a galloping horse out. If i see you tomorrow I will knowck you effing out you C U Next Tuesday!" before hanging up!!
I was so angry I rang him back up where there was a lot of screaming going on, he's not very intelligent so swears alot, threatens. He is unable to debate or doesnt respond well to challenge. I'm not dreading going up the yard - im quite looking forward to the challenge but is he in the wrong or not?????? I still got the horse in, he obviously thinks it acceptable to send an eleven year old girl to get a distressed horse in. It's the last time I help ANYONE out up there and will just do Flint and get on with it- he can find some other mug to do his horses now.. the lazy dried up old cow!! Pffft! 38 and he still lives off his mother!
rant over......pat on the back if you made it this far!!
