I should have posted these ages ago but changed phones!
As you may or may not know, I go to Morocco every summer to ride my horses with my daughter and son. The locals are very nice but hopelessly under resourced in terms of facilities, knowledge and equipment. They are really keen to learn however and always open to suggestions. This is something I did for the local riding school. When I first saw the tack room I nearly fell over. When they tack up a horse they grab the nearest bridle or saddle available. The numnahs are so dirty with sweat that they're like pancakes. Please can I ask for no nasty comments - they're amazing people and I love them.

Thanks - you can't see it from the video but it took the whole day to measure the bridles and saddles to fit each pony and horse so that they had their own tack and I made the kids clean the dirty bits with toothpaste. We found countless cockroaches and a rat - not to mention spiders the size of your hand:eek:
 
I have always wanted to ask, why morocco - are you from there originally?

Love tidy tack room, puts mine a little to shame - I can't keep up with the rats :mad:

What a difference! Hopefully the Horses will be much more comfy now and the staff and children can carry on making it look neat and tidy, whilst learning the importance of Horses having their own tack!

I married a Moroccan and seem to have been adopted by them! For some reason they seem to like me (can't work out why believe me). I think it's because I don't speak a word of the language and smile a lot:D
 
Ah, ok that makes sense, I always thought you'd randomly had a dream to have a morroccan horse :D

I was doing some bat surveys today in some lovely old stables with cobbled courtyard, the kind of yard dreams are made of - shame it will likely be made into housing :(
 
Well done Millreef, that must have been a very satisfying job! I've been to Morocco, we hired a car for 2 weeks, drove all over the place , absolutely loved it, what an amazing country. I'd love to go back.
 
A friend has gone to Morocco to do a riding holiday with 10 other people.
Not sure where though.
I like the look of your before and after, well done!
