A bald patch suddenly appeared on his neck, first a small one about the size of a 2p and the next day one about the size of my fist. The hair has just come out, not scabs or red skin. The skin looks perfectly healthy. The vet gave me some imaverol to bath him in to stop it spreading. Is there anything i could put on it to show him to make it less noticeable? Its supposed to be his first show on sunday, a small local one before all the bigger ones. I don't want to throw him in at the deep end!!

The symptoms you described sound like ringworm, so I looked up "imaverol" and it is used to treat ringworm.

As this is contagious I think it would be a little irresponsible to take your yearling this time, unless it has fully cleared up by then.

Why not give your vet a call and see what they would recommend.

Its not ringworm, the vets said a high percentage of alopecia is related to something fungal, not necessarily ringworm.
