And never ceases to amaze me! (In a brilliant way!)

Every year she gets in big bales of hay that we pay towards and have adlib hay, which works out cheaper for those of us whose horses have a lot of forage than buying small bales. Anyhow, I text her earlier asking if and when she's getting it in this year, as I am thinking about bringing Genie in at night for the next week or so.

She's spent all evening persuading me to leave Genie out for a few more weeks! It's incredibly refreshing! I am so used to being told exactly when my horses should come in at night that having the freedom to do it when I want is actually quite weird. I've never been encouraged to leave Genie out!

So yes, my YO is AMAZING! Does anybody else have this, and who else has an amazing YO for one reason or another?

My YO is amazing!! When i spent 8days in hospital last week, she looked after me horsey for me!! For nothing (DIY livery)
Going to get some choccies for her when i get paid!

My YO is fab!!

She taught me to ride so I owe it all to her :)

Plus, she helps me if she can, and lets me ride her horses. She gives me lessons, she is more of a friend/trainer than a YO :D

My YO is fab :D She is totally laid back - nothing is too much trouble for her. She is also a fabby instructor who has worked with me and started me jumping again after not having done it for a year - she also started teaching my daughter last week - she hasnt had a lesson in over 2 years and only sat on a pony a few times when it bolted with her and she was too scared to try again - tonight my YO had her cantering!!! CANTERING!!!!! YO was running alongside pony mind you - but she is working miracles with a previously very nervous little girl who came away from her second lesson with the biggest grin.

Also last weekend I went hunting with my friend in her trailer - friends horse was injured on the way there so she had to leave me there and travel back with her - my YO came to the rescue and brought her trailer and picked us up after I had been out with the hunt - a round trip of 120 miles.

Yup my YO is fab too. Its a hard job to be friendly and proffessional at the same time.
We have a nice wee yard with owners living on site and our YO rents and runs it great. No worries about our horses getting out or anything stolen as we have elec gates, laser securityalarms, guard dogs (and ghosts apparently ) and manage to keep a relaxed and friendly atmosphere with everyone.
When my horse was hurt the other day luckily she was close by and arrived at yard in 5 min.
Sometimes I have to remind her shes running a business she helps folk out so much.
She offers halp and advise and does what's best for each horse as an individual not in order to keep a routine.
Another great thing is if your horse has been off colour or anything she updates you via text to reassure you morning afternoon and night, heck she even texts when your horse is fine just to ask how you are. Hacks out with folks and encourages them to try stuff they are nervous of.
Sorry folk but we are full. I wonder why. Defo the way it should be
I vote we have a xmas nite out too would be fun :p

My field owner is amazing. Well .. shes not the field owner - we all rent the land from the farmer and split the cost of feed ..field rent everything etc. She is just a very kind lady that lives next door and takes care of the horses for us when were not there.

If I didnt have her around - I wouldnt know where id be right now to be honest. She has really helped me. After I lost my confidence she let me ride one of her very cheeky naughty ponies. Sounds weird but I actully got all my confidence back on this mare .. wether she threw a buck or anything it didnt faze me. Strange really. Anyways ..

She is such a great lady .. shes helped me so much when ive found things tough like hard times im going through with my new mare shes been there helping me etc.

Shes such a calm lady, if your feeling very stressed and upset because of a young tb exracer mare that is feeling very full of herself thinks its great to try push you about because youve only had her for about 2months (haha) She knows exactly how to reasure you and help you get back on track again.

She isnt the bossy type and she isnt an instructor etc .. she is there for advice and help if we need it.

Our farrier is great aswell .. when Maisie first came to me her front shoes she had on were too big for her and started pushing her feet inwards .. so our farrier came up and has now put two front shoes on that is going to correct her hooves .. and trims .. £30 please :) .. if they don't need doing he doesnt charge you .. but hes such a nice guy. Really friendly and is so calm around the horses if they think its great to muck about.

Very nice people and a very long post (really sorry)

:D

My YO is fantastic, she treats my horse exactly the same as hers. And is not above telling us off if she doesn't agree with what we do! Add free free range eggs and so much excellent advice and in my opinion we have the best YO ever. She disagrees Cappy needs his rug at present though, so we shall wait and see what happens.

Our YO is fab too, she........
has save me many a vet bill by diagnosing problems
offers lotions and potions willingly if you havent got what you need
charges for hay only what is costs her
has a great sense of humour
will get your horse in for you and is reluctant to take money off you for it
clips your horses again, not wanting money
provides tea and coffee for all and sundry with no expectation for funds (we do though!)
helped me get more confident by shouting at me to 'get on that bloody horse now'
given me extra stabling when i need it for the odd night, again no extra charge

in short she will lend you anything, and help with anything, has a great eye for horses and I will never, ever move yards!

so there!

~Mine is awesome too... friendly, helpful and professional, the yard is run well, the horses happy and well cared for and she manages an amazing job keeping 38 liveries happy and in order!

I love my yard and its made all the better by her excellent care and handling.

Mine is amazing, she does sooo much to help us all out....to the point where my horse is a bugger to catch....she catches her for me on the days i want to ride so that she is in and i dont have to spend hours trying to catch her. She lives on site literally 10 meters from the stable block and is there day and night for us if we need help/advice.
She does lessons at 7 am so i can have a lesson before work. She is always offering tea! Everything is always there...we have adlib haylidge and straw....it never runs out, there is always ample there for us we dont ever have to ask them to go and get another bale. She has even come out late on a friday night in the summer when she was half way through her tea because she saw me riding and i had been having issues with my pony and his saddle to watch us ride and to help me. I can go away and know my horse has the best care. I wouldnt move yards if you paid me a million pounds.

What she said.....she said it so much better than me!

LOL ! Like her style, she sounds fab :)

All my YO's have been great, but my award goes to Caroline, who had a broken bone in her foot (Loopy horse jumped on it)and told the hospital not to put a cast on because 'She couldn't get her wellies on over one.' How can I get 27 horses in through the mud with a bloomin' cast on ?' She remarked to me..
Er...get someone else to help ?
She once appeared on the muddy yard in beautiful white trousers, hair still wet from her shower to round up some new livery's horses that were running loose. Shame really, she was getting ready for a hot date.

my YO went throiugh a wierd patch'family issues' about a few months back when she was odd!! but now is back to her usual self being extremly helpful we pay DIY but she either puts out/brings in, if we cant get up/are away she will do him for us, she lets them be out whenever we want in the day the only thing she does request is that he is in all year...she molecoddles(sp) him he is retired and lives with her retired mare, she likes them to come in at night so they can lie on soft straw and eat all the haylage she wants. she also puts whichever rugs on that he needs if weather changes etc! FAB all this for no extra charge!!
