Right, well with thanks to moosea who kindly gave me another way to upload pics I thought I would finally join in the "show me your horse" type threads! Therefore i thought I would start with some pics of my youngster's first year with me and some of his first show so, here goes - this is Rocky

Feel free to critique as you wish (I am just so pleased I finally can get pics on as photobucket failed me!). Shame he wasn't 'smiling' in our action shot! Lol

I am very pleased with him so far, he's being very grown up although he can be bolshy! We went to our 2nd show on sunday and he came 4th! very pleased as was his first time ever in an indoor and there was a lot going on and a very cramped parking area etc. he is a bit furry now though so got a little warm on the way there so didn't look his best!

Looking forward to getting on board next spring to start some steady work. he stands at 15.3hh and a half now so I think he could be bigger than the predicted 16hh!!!

Cheers. He is proving to be quite character and is coming in to his own now - he's been with us the longest he's been anywhere now so he's quite settled. Actually looking back at the pics from when we got him I can see how much his front legs have straightened. He looks so over at the knee before!

Sssssh! lol. Funnily I was looking at him on sunday when i was waiting at the show and I thought how he's actually bigger now than my other horse was when I got him as a 4yo - he was 15.3hh. The thing is though, he still so looks like a baby, you couldn't imagine riding him now! Oh, I am 5'6" so yep, he is about the right size for me NOW and he's only 2 and a half! Lol

Ah yes, he does have very sexy symmetrical knee markings. God, i really need some proper showing attire if i do any more. As you can tell I don't 'do' in hand showing (or any showing for that matter), it was just a way to get him out and about to some events to see how he coped,
 
Look at that massive jug head and huge ears, he's gonna make at least 16.3 ;)

At least he's stopped trying to bite people's legs now too! :D
 
I think he's gorgeous , lovely even markings and well done to you for getting him out and about whilst still reletively young , I think it does them the world of good and really gives them a headstart for later on when you want to get down to some serious showing ( or whatever disapline you decide on ) .

If I was going to give you any cc of any kind , and i'm no expert , he looks as though he may be getting a bit of a ewe neck , which maybe just the way he was photographed at the time , but you ought to start thinking about building muscle on the top line and avoiding it underneath the neck - I'm sure there's others much more qualified on here that could give you some tips on how to achieve this. If you look back at his foal pic ( 1st pic ) you can see he has got a lovely set-on neck so it is achieveable. Sorry if you think i'm being picky it was just something i noticed - he's a real credit to you..
 
Thanks. No worries re the comments - I can see how you can see that from the pics. I don't think he is though, I just think he's a sod to have a picture taken and, annoyingly in the trotting pic he flung his head and was tmucking about with the bit hence how his head and ears are at the time. It wasn't the best pic but I wanted to buy as many pics as I could whilst he was young so they would be good to look back on once he's fully grown! Will be starting some long-reining etc with him in the spring to see how he gets on.

I just wish I could find out a bit more about his sire just to get some sort of idea as to what he may turn out like build wise. I have seen pics of his mum, she was just a bay TB and I have been told his sire was some 16.3hh unregistered coloured stallion called Golden Miller but then the trail runs cold as it were!
