Last night hubby and I went to Myerscoughs stallion parade, did anyone else go?

I know TayloredEquestion was there with their boy.

It was a really good turnout, there were not enough seats and many had to stand in the doorways. It was freezing but it was -1 at 4pm yesterday so any horsey place would have been cold.

The commentary was great, crystal clear and very informative.

The stallion broucher, mostly fab – each horse had an A4 page but some stallion owners had missed out key info such as contact details…. Stud fee…. Height…..but I guess that’s down to the stallions owner. Some of the photos didn’t do the horse any justice at all.

The running order was non existent which made finding the info on them quite a chore and sadly, quite a few of the stallions were not there, mainly the ones I wanted to see also!

There were some ‘dual-purpose’ stallions there who only were presented on the flat, yes there was photos of the jumping however I would have liked to have seen them pop a fence infront of us.

But, there was a great mixture of jumping, dressage, show pony, coloured stallions all under one roof.

I’m now also seriously considering 2 for my KWPN mare who I had not considered before, I have also been able to cross a couple off my short list.

So all in all, it was a good night out

I went, as you know, and shouldn't have gone.

My boy had already had a very busy week and it was just too much for him. He was pooped!!

I would however certainly consider going again next year as there was a very good turnout and I felt it was value for money.

i think 1 had been in when we got there but the ones i did see where:

Country Lone Ranger
Country Marksman
Sam Sam
Captin Pugwash III
Valeur R
Ontario
Temple Akropolis
Squires Eclipse
Squires Brigade (seem to think this was the one i missed)
Country Top Dollar
Bombay Royal Prince
Alderwood Hot Shot
Zandio O
Sir Frederic
think Nocona Black Hawk went
Moorhey Tomhawk
A J's Farbenfroh
Hallmarks Lord of the Rings

i know when i saw you in the catalogue i pointed out to hubby that you were from here, and that you had been deliberating which photos to use of him this year etc. i like the ones you chose.

i know when you were in quite a few more people were arriving. IMO it didnt help any of the owners at the start that they were of a similar height, chestnuts etc.
it also didnt help that later on there was a run of coloureds! apart from a few, i lost track of who was who - only little trip to the cafe or toilet and i was lost lol!
But i know for whatever reason they didnt keep to the running order so i guess that couldnt be helped.

Quite a few of the horses ended up having a 'moment' and one rider looked soooo embarrased

when his horse refused the jump.

Hi, I know what you mean.... I was thinking of taking my boy too, but it was just to soon after the Expo (mine is still pooped!)

I am sure they will all recover very soon.... are you going to Hartpury in March?

Mooiman was there he went on first, absolutely gorgeous. Also Sir Frederick and Temple Akropolis were fantastic. Ontario was impressive. But I fell in love with 2 Captain Pugwash and Bombay Royal Prince

Don't think the Springshill's horses were there, certainly I never saw them. Well worth the trip down from Cumbria, but damn it was cold!

I went last night thoroughly enjoyed it but as the others have said "Brass monkeys" The way they came in though was a disaster no running order at all which took alot of thumbing through the catalogue...especially when the had a run of coloured's...But a really nice evening with some very well mannered and turned out stallions...my main reason for going was to see Sirens Missile but non of the End House Boys were there

(waggon trouble I beleive) my next one to see Vince was also absent so then Sir Frederic who was stunning and he knew it

which was a bit frustrating..Captain Pugwash III got the biggest ovation and desevedly so he is amazing and can pop a jump lovely and enjoys it *I salute his owner getting through his feathers/main/tail they must take so much looking after* Temple Akropolis was also a nice show jumping animal who couls jump for fun and did jump effortlesly although it did put a stop in you cou could feel his embarrasment but IMHO twas rider error it had been whacked up and he didnt ride strongly to it
laugh.gif
there were some absolutly gorgeous PBA Ponies there who's names evade me and they were so pretty especially loved watching them off the lead Weeeeeeeeeee Whooooop Weeee..Sorry if anyone reading who took there boys and I havent mentioned them they were all lovely and immaculate and well behaved...makes me wonder wether to let mine have just one more..well sorry to have probably bored you all senseless

Jaxmath - Val had a really busy week as he was also competing the day before the expo and then had to fill in on a dressage clinic when I had someone pull out on the Tuesday after the expo. He's having a few days off now and then he has the regionals next week!!
I won't be able to make the March one at Hartpury as I have too many clients horses booked in to be able to get away for the day.

Charlies Army - he is liver chestnut (this is him with his winter coat to give you an idea - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VwR13rZjBgE).

I will also upload the video footage from the expo but have to get some paperwork done for my business first!!

it was Temple Akropolis and Sir Frederic that really caught my eye, i'm a bit
frown.gif
i missed Mooiman - dam my husband taking forever to get ready grrrrrr!

who was it Charliesarmy that you went to see? (pm me if you prefer!)
